Design Notes

Miraculin naturally has exposed histidine tags which allow for metal ion purification, yet attaching the his-tag should allow for greater concentrations of purified protein. The protein can be purified using any his-tag purification method, such as Nickel binding resin or his-antibodies.

The sequence for the miraculin was sourced from UniProt (P13087). The entire amino acid sequence for the part was codon optimized for E. coli K12 and then repeat sequences were removed manually.

Source

The sequence is from the UniProt database (P13087) without the C-terminus signal peptide.
